Not knowing if an ultimate reality exists makes W1 even more interesting. Uncertainty makes you a creator. A large portion of the image of reality is blank, and this makes you a creator. While your L2 lenses try to make the most accurate model of the filled part of the picture of W1, the content of L1 and L3 that fills the blank portion of the reality is up to you. You exert your creativity in constructing your own universe through the content of your L1 and L3.
The vastness and depth of modern science mistakenly provides the illusion of absolute knowledge and certainty. Specialization makes an individual an expert in a narrow field of science, without providing him with a panoramic view of the whole picture. The illusion of certainty becomes so numbing and comforting that he erases any mystery and unknown entity from his consciousness. Through escapism, denial, and other defense mechanisms he evades mystery and uncertainty. Why is death such a taboo for the modern man? Because death is a doorway to mystery. A belief of afterlife depending on whether anything lies after death or not affects one's life.
